Accessibility statement

Last updated: 13 September 2026

4.1 Our commitment

World Meditation Foundation is committed to making the World Meditation Day website usable by the widest possible audience, whatever technology or ability a visitor brings.

4.2 Conformance target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

4.3 What we’ve done

We use semantic headings, navigation and ordinary links, and check the reading order of the pages we build.

We provide text alternatives for meaningful images. Any replacement timeline artwork will also need a complete structured text equivalent.

The websites use blue accents, dark text and light backgrounds, with checks of the text and background combinations actually used.

We check site navigation, links and Contact forms for keyboard operation and visible focus. Donation-service accessibility must be assessed in the selected checkout.

The Contact forms use explicit labels and linked error messages. Third-party checkout controls require separate verification.

We use descriptive link and button text so visitors can understand its destination or action.

We check representative page layouts at narrow widths and with enlarged text, and correct loss of content or horizontal overflow found in those checks.

New audio, video and other media are reviewed for the alternatives needed by their content before publication.

4.4 Known limitations

Third-party donation services and externally linked content may have accessibility limitations. The selected donation journey requires its own testing; no third-party conformance claim is made here.

The current 2025 Annual Report is undergoing accessibility review. Please contact us if you need its information in another format.

4.5 Ongoing work

Accessibility checks are included in our pre-launch checklist and are revisited whenever the site has a major update.

4.6 Feedback

If you find something on either website that is difficult to access, please contact us at info@un-worldmeditationday.org. We aim to respond as promptly as possible, typically within two weeks.

4.7 About this statement

This statement describes our accessibility target and the scope of our checks. It is not a claim that every page, document or third-party service fully conforms.
